About Creativity & Illumination
When the word creativity is mentioned, most people today think immediately of some form of visual or performing art, or creative writing. By looking at the definition, we realize it is so much broader than just art. It is inclusive of making anything -- maybe a meal or clothing, putting together an outfit, designing a building or roadway, writing a computer program, or decorating a room. Yes, all these can be ordinary, boring, typical -- but it is in the approach that is taken that makes any of these creative.
cre·a·tive (krE-'A-tiv, 'krE-A-tiv) adjective 1: marked by the ability or power to create : given to creating <the creative impulse> 2: having the quality of something created rather than imitated : IMAGINATIVE <creative arts> excerpted from Merriam-Webster Online - Definition of: creative
Creativity can also refer to how someone approaches solving problems. In this case the process is within the mind -- the thinking of new thoughts, or organizing of thoughts in a different way.
Now let us also look at the history of the use of the word creativity. It is a great example of how usage of a word changes over time. Centuries ago, creativity applied only to poetry. Other art was considered just an imitation of reality and as such was "made" but lacked any imagination or innovation. It wasn't until the 19th century that creativity was applied to art -- paintings, etc,. In the 20th century, it was extend also to science, especially in the area of scientific experiments. From the late 1800's several writers and philosophers, including Ralph Waldo Emerson, Ernest Holmes, and Mary Baker Eddy, documented that you create your life experience through your thoughts. You are at choice about how you react to a situation. Thus, creativity, in some circles, is used to refer to how you live your life. You create or manifest your life events, you attract conditions (both good and bad), by how you think.

Illumination refers to the casting of light as provided by a light bulb, but also refers to enlightenment as in Spiritual guidance or a peaceful feeling, or simply becoming aware of the nature of one's self through detached exploration. Having grown beyond the religious context, it is now inclusive of obtaining new wisdom or understanding.
"Every person is their own "creator" and creates their reality by the beliefs, the self-assumptions that they maintain and can create a new reality by deciding to hold new, more interesting beliefs as true until manifested. As a person awakens to this level of self-awareness they begin to live their life deliberately and originally as their own art form." excerpted from Wikipedia - Enlightenment
As a life coach, or creativity muse, as I prefer to call myself, I "shine a light onto your creative path". What does this mean? By brining "light" (illumination/a light bulb) to any situation, new options become visible, just as light dispels darkness and allows one to see their environment. Also, the light of illumination, referring to enlightenment being brought into a discussion brings Spiritual or muse guidance, new wisdom, and understanding. This guidance assists with realizing and understanding other options which may have otherwise passed by without being realized. Options which are likely to provide increased abundance or peace (or at least less chaos). Intuition typically appears guiding you toe the best choices, choices that often conflict with the decision ego is suggesting.
"Your creative path" refers to simply to your life, whether that be what everyone considers the creative life of an artist or a more typical life of an engineer, a retails clerk/sales, or a housewife/mother. Everyone creates their life. Become conscious of this and set an intent to creatively manifest the life of your dreams.
Welcome to our journey together, as we explore how we each create our life, and how we can tap into the ultimate, Universal wisdom.
